“A debtor who is a resident of this state may hold exempt from
execution the following property . . ..” Iowa Code § 627.6;

could have objected to nonresidents' claim of Iowa personal
property exemptions).

Iowa’s homestead exemption may be used by residents and
nonresidents. Iowa Code § 561.16;

under Iowa law is not resident specific. There is no
requirement that debtor be Iowa resident).

So, nonresidents may not be able to use all of Iowa's
exemptions.
